Most people ring a locksmith once every few years, at the worst possible moment, with no way to judge who is on the other end. The three things worth knowing before you agree to anything are what it will cost, when somebody will actually arrive, and who is going to turn up. We settle all three on the phone, and the figure quoted is the figure invoiced.
We cover two zones rather than the whole city, and we say where they end. That constraint is what turns an arrival time into a number instead of a hope. It also keeps the work familiar: the aluminium sliders through Vermont and Forest Hill, heritage doors around Canterbury that cannot be cut into, the fob-and-restricted-key towers at Box Hill and Ringwood, and everything within a few streets of the water at Seaford and Bonbeach, where salt takes years off hardware that was not chosen for it.
There is no shopfront, deliberately. We run two service zones, each with its own vans and its own quoted times, because Frankston is about 30 km from Box Hill and one arrival figure could not honestly cover both.
Four things we will not do. Quote low on the phone and revise it at your door. Drill a lock that could have been picked. Sell you hardware the door does not need. Charge you when we could not solve the problem — not a reduced rate, not a partial refund, nothing.
